![]() ![]() Some argue, our intelligence is an emergetic side effect of the interactions of the millions of neurons in our brain. Each cell in our body alone is insignificant and stupid, but all the billion cells together form something remarkable. In other words, the sum is greater as its parts. These properties or behaviors emerge only when the parts interact in a wider whole. ![]() From wikipedia:Įmergence occurs when an entity is observed to have properties its parts do not have on their own. But how can they organize all of this, when a single ant obviously has no intelligence? We call this Emergence. All collected funghi are quality controled for contamination before planted the growing ares inside the colony. They regularly check their "cattle" and remove infected livestock to prevent the spread of deseases. Ant colonies can be incredibly organized, they even grow funghi and breed livestock. ![]() The classical example would be a colony of ants.
